My name is Amber Stone, and I’ve been drawing for basically my entire life. I’ve always loved coming up with other worlds full of heroes, monsters, and stories to tell. I find that visual art has its own unique properties when it comes to storytelling; it is able to present something vivid but not without ambiguity, just like the daydreams that so many of my works spring from. Sight has a way of intermingling with the other senses, calling to mind sounds, smells, feelings. But with only the visual, the viewer is left with questions— a curiosity unique to the medium. My hope with my artworks is to make the viewer feel transported into the world within each frame, to wander and wonder about what could have led to each and where they could be going. With my works I strive to make each picture worth a thousand words, with a hundred thousand just out of sight.
